HELPFUL HINTS AND SCHOOL RULES FOR

ALIMACANI PARENTS, VISITORS, AND

VOLUNTEERS

  • Whether you are volunteering or visiting, you must sign in and out at the front office and put on a visitor’s badge (sticker obtained from the front office staff).

  • During school hours, you must only enter and exit the school through the front office.  This is for the security of the children.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE record your volunteer hours in the PTA Volunteer Book found in the front office by the sign in book.

  • Please be quiet in the halls at all times so that you do not disturb the classes.

  • If you are coming to have lunch with your child and you wish to eat at the courtyard tables, you must pickup a Courtyard Pass when you sign in at the front office. Give the Courtyard Pass to a lunchroom assistant before you take your child so they will know where your child has gone.

  • If you need a jolt of caffeine to get you through your volunteering hours, the coffee machine and supplies in the teacher’s dining room are provided by the PTA for all Staff and Volunteers.

  • Do not open the outside doors to let other people in, even if you know them. This is for the security of your children. Everyone must come through the front office to sign in. (And the doors are alarmed with really loud alarms which will then disrupt the nearby classes as well.)

  • All medicine (including over-the-counter) has to be signed in through the clinic. Students are not allowed to bring the medicine in because a parent/guardian must sign a medical form.

  • Tardy slips will be given at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Please note that the traffic is very heavy in the morning, so make plans to leave home early.

  • Classroom volunteers and room parents are not allowed to ask for any monetary donations from the class. In the past this has sometimes been done for teachers gifts or class parties. You are allowed to ask for donations of items, such as juice boxes or chips. If several parents who know each other would like to get together to donate a more expensive item, such as pizza for the class, they are allowed to as long as the planning and money exchange are conducted outside of school.
